Lessons Learned
A new year has finally arrived, and like many of us, I find myself reflecting on this past year. I know it is a cliche, but I really learned a lot this year. I lost more than I wanted, but that loss gave me the confidence to look at myself in the mirror. I am proud to say that with each lesson I gained a deeper understanding of not only who I was but the world around me. Which is why I am glad to pass on these twelve crucial lessons, so that we all may walk into this new year better than we did the last.
January opened with a banger by reminding me that intentions mean nothing without a plan. I had to witness the importance of aligning my intentions with real steps, so that I could plan my future with a realistic view. I needed to be reminded that all my desires are achievable if my words match my work ethic. February deepened my understanding of my connections with the people I allow around me. It taught me that friendships deserve the same care, respect, and acknowledgment as romantic relationships. Many of my friendships have been foundational to my life and deserve to be nurtured.
By March, I was challenging the saying that consistency is key. I had to do a lot of self reflecting on my actions throughout my life, and I was forced to recognize that I did not like a lot about my habits. For me sticking to old…
